Pav is an abstract figurative artist based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, creating bold, expressive works that balance playful energy with emotional depth. Pav’s practice is intuitive and layered, rooted in storytelling and spontaneity. Drawing from years of experience as a graphic designer, Pav embraces colour, shape, and mixed media to build compositions that feel both immediate and considered. Pav’s work often centres on the human figure – distorted, exaggerated, or simplified – set within scenes that suggest a narrative without ever making it explicit. Pav is drawn to moments of contrast: stillness and movement, loud colour and negative space, humour and vulnerability.Whether depicting a reclining woman, a chair with a vase, or a figure brandishing a fish, Pav creates work that aims to spark curiosity and joy, inviting viewers to bring their own stories to what they see. Ultimately, Pav makes art to connect – with self, with others, and with the strange and beautiful in-between spaces that sit just beneath the surface of everyday life.
